In Memoriam
The Raleigh Buffalo Soldiers mourn the loss of one of their own.
Curtis "Stampede" Porter has passed away from this life.
In November 2004 Stampede joined the Buffalo Soldiers Fayetteville NC chapter. In 2009 he and three other chapter members decided to form a new chapter closer to their homes and to serve their local community. That new chapter was initially formed in Louisburg but in August of 2013 the club officially moved location to Raleigh. Stampede was a founding chapter member, instrumental in the creation of the Raleigh chapter and became the first chapter Secretary. He retired from the Buffalo Soldiers in November of 2015.
He is remembered by his Buffalo Soldier brothers and sisters.
